As someone who has to track down things like this constantly, I'm pretty unimpressed at the (lack of) speed of their code checking. This was not an obscure bug or complicated. It was just a too-large buffer definition and an execution path that always downloaded info.
And people think Apple can check binary app store submissions for bugs or trojans in just a few minutes, when they can't even find their own bugs in a few days with commented source code.
Again unimpressed. There've been accurate explanations posted here before Apple spoke up, that took just minutes to compose.
Although I've defended Apple over and over again on this topic, this just smacks of hoping it would blow over.
The right thing to do would've been to immediately say a week ago, "we're looking into it".
You sound as though you are in CS, escalation engineering or SQE; am I correct?

At this point, I couldn't really care less about Blu Ray or HD-DVD. I'd be more excited if Apple included Lightscribe or equivalent capability in their drives. Unlabeled discs are piled high on my desk.
Just replace your burner with a LightScribe unit and use the HP burning s/w.
....unless you have a laptop and dont wish to lug around an external burner?

The CSS3 resizer property is fine and good because you can set resizer:none to a form element if you want to. As a side note, resizer applies to all elements, including html, meaning a site could prevent you from resizing the browser window. That has the potential to be very annoying if abused, as I'm sure it will be. Right now, I don't think any of the main 5 or 6 browsers support this propery for any element.
What worries me is if Safari is implementing this feature using built-in DOM functions instead of just supporting the CSS3 property. This is a possibility to me. They've got quite a ways to go in terms of the standard right now.
no, it's CSS3 download the nightly then visit this site. http://www.css3.info/preview/resize.html

I have an Apple 24" LED. It is in warranty through Apple Care. The monitor has large black sections at the bottom of the screen and I want to have it replaced. Since the 24" LED is not made anymore, does Apple replace it with a refurbished 24" or do they repair the monitor?

So Samsung believed Apple was violating it's patents all this time but decided to do nothing about it. Now that they have been pushed they decide to act. Sounds to me they are trying to find whatever they can to bite back at Apple.

It's a little early for a Halloween shot, but I'm getting a jump on it. Still hunting for a good Halloween Mail.app icon, though. Not sure what to do with trash, yet. So, I guess it's kind of a WIP desktop.

I'm trying to change my Idisk Icon, but I can't find it in candybar under volumes or applications. Any Ideas? I'm on a trial version of .mac right now if that helps.

I'm seeing/hearing the phrase post-PC device/era a bit too often for comfort. I like the iOS devices but for me the Mac is still by far the most important product that Apple make and I hope it continues for a long time to come. I look forward to seeing what they come up with for Maps though.

In the industy's defense, since it is their copyrighted content, they technically get to set the rules.
That's the problem. The industry thinks that they can set the rules, when in fact it's the law makers and the judges that decide and implement them. I just wish the they (the politicians/judges, etc) would show a bit more understanding and concern for the consumer. After all, we're the ones who need protecting.

So because you don't like Financial Times it's okay for everyone that they are holding out iPad subscriptions. This is exactly what's wrong with you Apple fanboys.
You should be penalizing Apple for allowing this to happen. but instead you jump for joy.

"The iphone is finally out for Verizon! I couldn't wait to get one, and thanks to a buy one get one free deal I have an extra one! Don't miss your chance to own one of these! Best phone with the best network. This auction is for a photo of an iPhone only, no phone included. Don't worry about shipping, it's free to the lower 48 states! if you live outside of this region please contact me ahead of time and let me know, I'll calculate additional shipping. Thanks!"
statement 1: The iphone is finally out for Verizon! I couldn't wait to get one, and thanks to a buy one get one free deal I have an extra one!
Statement 2: Don't miss your chance to own one of these!
statement 3: This auction is for a photo of an iPhone only, no phone included.
------------------------
statement 2, states you could own one of "these" referring to the previous statement of the free iphone 4 he supposedly got from a buy one get one, deal
statement 3 is where they mentioned that it's just a photo
first option: if it was me i would contact ebay and paypal and said that the item arrived was not as described =D it wasn't one of "these" as the seller had described....since the seller described two features to the auction and you've only received 1 (the photo portion)....worth a try?
second option: the item is described as used, you're photo is new =D return.
third option: the photo was damaged during shipping =D
fourth option: the photo had an iphone in it, but according to the seller's sentence: "a photo of an iPhone only, no phone included"
if the picture have more than just the iphone, then you could return it because the description said "iphone only" - this means no table, no box, no nothing, not even background. and the picture has to be the one from the description, if not you can return it based on the fact that the item is not as described.
